i’m currently sitting in columbus, ohio waiting to board my plane.  with the few seconds i have, i’d like to say a few things.  first off, happy birthday to 2 of my friends!!  Adam Schiller and John Schneck.  today is also my birthday!  crazy, i know.    anyways, so last night was my last Cute Is What We Aim For and it went well.  no one died!  it was a bummer to see it end.  i had spent the last 2 months of my life with the same 40 people, of whom most i will miss.  top of the list is Ace Enders.  the dude is awesome.  he used to be the front man of The Early November a while back.  i was a fan.  no lie.  but it was nice having someone bitter and jaded other than me on the same tour!  haha.  i’m going to miss that dude.  then there’s duffy.  stand up dude.  his first tour, and right out the bat he’s multi tasking.  gotta love him.  i gotta give it up for everyone on the tour who put up with me being a dick to them for the first half of it.  glad you guys saw through that and saw the less dick version of me.  thanks!  everyone will be missed.  but if i’ve only had to learn 1 thing about anything, its that this is a small world and our world of touring is even smaller.  i’ll see everyone again.  for sureso i’m heading home today.  i have a direct flight from here to DFW!  so awesome!!  i’ll be getting in around  915.  hopefully adam schiller will wake up in time to pick me up.  ha.  seriously.  please remember.  pretty please.unfortunately  i’ll only be home for 4 days.  i’m flying back out thursday night to begin what will hopefully be a nice long run with miranda lambert!  i’ve finally found a gig that i can keep for a while.  professional older band and crew guys.  big venues.  lots of business.  home as often as i’m on the road.  what else can i ask for….well, the plane is boarding.  during the next few days, this site will be going through some changes.  look for it!  i hope everyone has a great day.  the sun is up.  try to smile until it goes back down…

so i’m nearing the end of my first cute is what we aim for tour and it’s been interesting. i spent a lot of the time angry and upset. over what? i’ll tell you why. i wanted 2008 to be my banner year. where everything goes right and i feel like i’ve accomplished something. i’m about to turn 25. thats a quarter of my life i’ve already rocked through. i’ve done some cool awesome things so far. i’ve been to australia, i’ve toured the country, and i’ve met some awesome people and have made some of the best friends anyone could have asked for! but there’s something missing. i made a plan and i dont feel like its going accordingly. it basically came down to make something of myself in the touring world or get out and get back to a normal life. by the time i’m thirty, i want to be a headlining arena merch guy, or a tour manager. consistently. this year, i went from doing Boys Like Girls to Larry The Cable Guy to Cute Is What We Aim For…..wait, what? going to larry after blg was good but then i went to ciwwaf? thats like a step down. i mean its a great gig and i have appreciate. they have a lot of potential, but it wasnt what i was hoping or looking for. i wanted to continue forward. so in the past 2 months, i’ve just been angry towards everyone when i should just be upset with myself. and even then, i shouldnt be. i’ve had, lets say, an epiphany this week. i know what i want to do and i have the friends to do it with. its all a matter of implementation and motivation to do it. i i’ve had a few good conversations with a few friends about my ideas and i’m getting positive feedback. its exciting. now if i can find the time to get stuff happening a gig that would allow me the time to work on this, i would be golden. its a matter of timing and implementation. and the gig might have presented itself last night in the form of 3 forwarded emails and an aim message this morning. i’ve applied for a gig for a dallas area country artist looking for a merch guy. i sent my resume in thursday night and on friday morning, they requested i give them a call. i did, sent some references, they checked it out, and now i’m waiting for the call back. its for the country artist Miranda Lambert. shes a platinum recording artist and is pretty popular. like huge. if i score this gig, my banner year will come true, i’ll have time to focus some time on said personal project and maybe get the ball rolling on turing things around. there will be more info on that to come.  in the upcoming weeks i’ll be doing a lot more to this like adding a twitter feed, and embedding loopt and places i’ve been to and stuff like that. this site will eventually become a lot more than a blog. i plan on doing videos for it too. just gotta stop being lazy with that and i need a better editing program. waiting for my friend duffy to pull through on that. but for now, i’m out. going to my bunk to read. its never to late to realize your dream. all it takes is some inspiration.
